BPAL scents I have

I thought I'd also give a review of the BPAL fragrances I have.

I got into BPAL about 2 years ago.  I've had these oils since.  I keep them in my box away from heat and light.  They last a long time; there are only 2 fragrances I'm even near needing to replace!

Here's what I have:

Dana O’Shee:  Offerings of milk, honey and sweet grains were made to placate these creatures, and it is that the basis of the scent created in their name.  The BPAL site lists more in the description, but that's what it sounds like.  This is one of my ABSOLUTE favorites, and it's mostly due to the fact that it's not something I'd have chosen for myself.  A friend recommended it and I tried it and loved it.  It's very milky with a little bit of a cherry zing.  It lasts all day on me!

Baobhan Sith:  Grapefruit, white tea, apple blossom and ginger  This is also a favorite of mine.  It's a very sweet fragrance and it also lasts all day long.

Punkie Night 2010:  This is a light-hearted scent: apple orchards, bright cranberries, and a touch of warm cider.  This is a LE from this year, and it's one that I absolutely LOVE.  The cider is awesome, and I can smell lots of apples but not many cranberries.  It also smells a bit fall airy-ish.

Pomegranate II:  Pomegranate, white musk, lemon verbena, grapefruit, pink lime  I'm a sucker for anything Pomegranate but this is the only one of the Pomegranate Patch this year that didn't have a note in it I'm sensitive to.  I thought the musk would amp on me like they normally do but it doesn't at all.  It's very much in the background.

Phantasm:  This delicate, spectral perfume gives rise to an eerie distortion of of the senses. It bestows an ephemeral, ghostly, and truly haunting quality to your presence. Green tea, lemon verbena, jasmine and neroli.  This is another favorite.  The green tea and lemon verbena are the most prominent notes for me, but there's a bit of jasmine and neroli.  Sometimes jasmine amps with me but it doesn't in this!  It's very spectral, just like the description.

Shanghai:  The crisp, clean scent of green tea touched with lemon verbena and honeysuckle.  I'm on a green tea kick aparently.  This is very close to Phantasm, but the honeysuckle just makes it...well, different.  I LOVE honeysuckle!  I should add I'm not usually much of a flowery scent lover at all, but the flower notes in these BPAL are lovely.

Bewitched:  Deep, luscious green and berry scents that evoke images of woodland witchcraft and the raw power of nature: blackberry, sage, green tea, wild berries and dark musk.  The Dark Musk in this is very much in the background too.  This is probably the darkest scent I own but it's got it's place in my heart!

Muse:  A light, invigorating floral and citrus blend. Tuberose, lotus and jasmine with a hint of lime This is exactly as it sounds; a floral with a hint of lime.  The jasmine doesn't amp on me in this either.  In another BPAL, Eos, it ROARS to the front and gives me a headache.

Swank: Simply cool, the essence of Lounge: the scent of a crisp pomegranate martini  Exactly as it sounds; pomegranate with the bite of alcohol in a martini.  LOVE it!!!!

Akuma:  Devilish temptation, as sweet as sin: blood orange, neroli, and raspberry.  I'm a definite fruit lover, and Raspberry is a favorite.  This one is one of 2 that I need to replace; the other is Baobhan Sith.  It's about 1/3 of the way from the bottom.

Eat Me:  Three white cakes, vanilla, and red and black currants  Last but not least!  This used to not go powdery on me, but now it does.  I don't know why.  I guess either it aged and changed or my chemistry changed some.  I don't like it when my scents go powdery, but as long as I'm light handed it's ok.

That's all my BPAL!!!

  2. Thanks for sharing this! I have still been stalking BPAL. However, the prices are a little high for me, even though everybody says their fragrances are worth it! Maybe one of these days...

  3. Hi Rakhshanda, thank you!! :D

Hi Peach! Yep, they are worth it, I actually just caved and bought another LE. It's Ginger Skulls which is supposed to be another sweet one like Baobhan Sith. Even though I love CYS I'll probably still pick up the occasional BPAL too.
